       Bourbon Ware + Decanters 

These "limited edition" sets are a new direction in the Baked Clay Studio, and each set is a one-of-a-kind design.

 

The surface decorations are created with black iron oxide + manganese slip, a glaze pencil, and a sharp stylus for the layers of scratched line drawings.

 

The ice blue decanter set was decorated with a resist pattern before glazing and the resulting "shadows" are intended to reference the view from a window over a cityscape.
